Our Favorite New Years Resolutions

 

2017 brings promise of new adventures, accomplishing goals and living our best selves, and hopefully lots of fun.  In that spirit, we gathered our favorite New Year’s resolutions to inspire you to enter the new year with a bang.    

 

 

Make Someone Smile Every Day

Smiling is contagious!  Smiling also increases endorphins for you and those smiling with you.  Smiling also makes you more attractive and approachable.  Who doesn’t want that? 

 

Learn a New Skill

We often find ourselves making the excuse that we don’t have enough time to pick up a hobby.  Pick something you’ve always wanted to learn and go for it.  Whether it’s a cooking class, music lesson, or learning a new language, you’ll have fun and feel accomplished.  Plus, you might make a new friend or two!

 

Sleep More

The benefits of sleep go on forever.  It is one of the most important things we can do for our bodies and minds. Adequate sleep supports healthy weight and skin, lowers stress and increases mental clarity. 

 

Declutter

Spring cleaning can be done year round.  Decluttering is linked to increased clarity and a decrease in stress.  It’s also a great way to letting go of the past and welcoming in the new.

 

 

Make Work-Life Balance a Priority

It's easy to get caught up in our careers, but it's just as important to make a life outside of the office.  Whether it’s family, friends, making time to exercise or just have quality down time, make a point to get something on the calendar at least once a month. 

 

Unplug

Take a break from your electronic devices and all the noise they bring to our lives.  There’s no need to go to any extremes, but taking time to connect with yourself and loved ones at least once a week without the distraction of phones or TV can do wonders for you and your relationships. 

 

 

Practice Gratitude

It’s easy for us to get caught up in the many stressors life throws our way and to become blind to all the love and wonderful people we have around us.  Try taking a few moments every day to acknowledge what you’re grateful for. You'll find that it really puts things things into perspective.
